Surfing has always been one of Lorenz Bäumer's passions, and in 2003 he discovered the island of Sumba in Indonesia. Apart from the splendid scenery, he was immediately attracted by the smiles of the children who welcomed him. These radiant faces, despite the difficult living conditions, have never left me.

According to Lorenz Bäumer, "Every child, wherever they live, represents the future of our planet, and all of them deserve to grow up in the best conditions to be actors in tomorrow's world. This is a cause that touches him very personally as a world citizen but also as a father. He therefore wanted to commit himself to the future of children by accompanying them in their school careers.
Through close cooperation with the Sumba Foundation, whose main mission is to facilitate the lives of the Indonesian people on the island of Sumba while respecting their culture and traditions, Bäumer supports access to education for the children on the island.

Inspired by the cultural heritage of Sumba: their sculptures, the images on their houses but also the weaving of their baskets. Lorenz Bäumer has designed a new collection of silver pendants. The jewellery is made in the villages using their ancestral know-how.
One pendant sold will provide seven children with school supplies for a year. Since the beginning of this project, the House of Bäumer has accompanied more than 20,000 children in collaboration with the Sumba Foundation.
